Finishing

Block firmly to size. Cut the lining fabric to size, allowing at least 3 cm all around for the seam, and use an iron to turn seam under.
Using slipstitch and fabric needle, secure lining to top and sides of flap only.
Form the bag compartment by folding garter stitch body of bag in half and joining sides together using mattress stitch.
Fold the remaining unsecured lining fabric in half with right sides facing so the lining pocket will fit inside the bag compartment. Stitch both sides along the seam allowance using back stitch.
Cut reinforcing material slightly smaller than the size of the bag compartment. Insert the plastic into the bag compartment, behind the lining pocket. Using slipstitch, secure front edge of the lining compartment to the inside front of the bag compartment.
